Political Cooperation

The Italy-China Intergovernmental Committee is the main instrument of the bilateral strategic partnership, inaugurated in 2004.

The Committee brings together representatives from the main public administrations of the two countries and aims at giving impulse to the systematic development of the cooperation in different sectors. The sixth plenary of the Committee took place successfully in Beijing on April 27, 2015, co-chaired by the two Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Paolo Gentiloni and Hon. Wang Yi.

In June 2014 in Beijing, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Keqiang, adopted  a three-year Action Plan (2014-2016).
